August Quilting

Working on catching up before the end of the year, hopefully I can get the
next few post done quickly  2019 has been a wonky year for me, ahead in
some areas and really, really behind in others!  Blogging being one of them!
I REFUSE to give up the blogging always better late than never.  Enjoy
the quilts, I sure did!

First set of quilts from Ardy here in NH.  Three adorable little ones that are just wonderful!  Her first is the simple split 9 using white as the opposite color, great results!  Second is just perfect for any little person with the bright colored fabric that she used and her last quilt is so sweet in soft pastels.

Cathy over in VT kept me a bit busy with her latest projects. In this month's batch of quilts she included an UFO that she had made a few years ago and decided it was just time to get it finished!  First quilt photo is the UFO followed by a beautiful greens and yellows, the final quilt is a ocean themed that we finished off with a jelly fish quilting design.

Here's a quilt from Hazel also here in NH.  Hazel did an excellent job on this quilt kit from Hen House Fabric.  Wanting it to have a heavier quilting design I selected the swirly star design with cream thread to keep the quilting in the background.

Julene from KY is back again this month!  Beautiful shades of blue is a perfect combo for this quilt and we finished them off with two different quilting designs.  LOVE the first one (who am I kidding, I love them both!) quilted in a feather design to match the backing.  Julene's second quilt we went with a very swirly design.  Finished both magnificently!

What a marvelous Grandma Karen from MN is!  She finished up this blue flying geese quilt for her grandson Ollie here in NH.  Her selection of blue fabrics were spot on for a young man.  We opted for a more modern quilting design so this sensational quilt will be a keeper for many years to come!

Here's a couple more from Karen in IN.  Her latest quilts are just astounding!!  Maple leaves in all colors surround a larger one in the center of her first quilt.  Using beautiful rich fall colors for each leaf made choosing a maple leaf quilting design was a no-brainer for me.  And don't you just love her second quilt? WOW!!! This one I really LOVE! It's so modern in color and style! Karen did a perfect job of getting all of those colors in just the right places!

Another wonderful Grandma, Linda in NH made this fun quilt out of left over pieces of fabric from her granddaughters clothing.  It only took little bits and pieces to create this terrific quilt and it's another that's going to be loved for many, many years to come.

Here's a quilt from Linda in IL.  I just love the color combination, very soothing.  Simple design but such a great quilt!

Here's a quilt from Lisa in CT.  This quilt is all about Christmas and was entered into Lisa's local fair.  Perfect piecing made my job an easy one and brought in a Blue Ribbon for Lisa at the fair! Congrats, Lisa!

Polly here in NH sent me the next quilt.  Working with her scraps she made it all happen in this incredible quilt.  I really like the way she incorporated the green strips to accent the center split four patch blocks.

Another spectacular quilt from Renie here in NH.  Renie always does an astounding job from start to finish with her quilting projects.  Finishing up this remarkable Christmas quilt months ahead she's going to be all ready to celebrate the season!

Sharlene did a little scrap busting with this quilt.  While in the process of putting the blocks together her granddaughter claimed the quilt as her's.  Don't you just love when someone falls in love with a quilt before it's even finished?  Great job, Sharlene!

Here's a couple of quilts headed to the Jack Byrne Cancer Center here in Lebanon, NH.  Thanks ladies for your contribution.

Sharon, who spends her summers in NH and winters in AZ made this very cool Hanging Basket quilt.  Love the fabrics that she selected, intense colors with very geometric mixture of prints within the fabric.  Don't forget you can click on the photos for a closer look!

Next couple of quilts are from Sue in VT.  The first quilt constructed from an owl panel with alternate blocks made the best top ever!  The earthy browns in this top really makes it soothing and just perfect if you are looking for a guy quilt.  Any owl or bird lover would be super pleased to own this one!  Her second quilt, a larger split nine with a few half square triangles to add a bit of interest finished off beautifully!  Great combo of fabrics!

Here's a quilt that I did a little repairing and finished.  Susan fell it love with this antique quilt top but it was sadly needing a bit of repair. The fabrics are truly amazing and I really enjoyed working with them.  It was great to see the true fabrics of yesteryear.  Due to the hand stitching and the fragile fabrics we decided to go with a bit heavier on the quilting to secure the quilt.  Finished, it is nothing short of incredible.

Susanne kept me busy for a bit with these fun pieces.  Her first quilt is all about hearts and love, so of course it just had to have a bit of love and hearts in the quilting.  Her second piece is the funnest I've seen for a while.  What a super adorable pumpkin face wall hanging!  We had lots of fun with the stitching adding the Halloween themed design complete with cute little ghost, witches and more pumpkins.  The last quilt was a great twist on the red, white and blue theme.  First time I've seen this design on a quilt and it would work well for a multitude of those much needed red, white and blue themed projects.  Great job, Susanne!

Oh my gosh!!  That finally wraps up August and now I need to work on getting those September quilts posted so I can then work on the October and November since it's already December!!
