October 2020

October!!  Working to catch up!!

Here's a great quilt from Judy in NC.  Love the way she's matched the solid fabrics with the Kaffe Fasset fabrics.  What I also love about this quilt is the way she used bits and pieces for one of her borders. All of the colors really stand out with the black fabric on either side.

New quilter Dion brought me a couple of quick projects that she had finished.  I had fun playing with the blue jean top and ended up putting different designs in some of the patches.  Then a basic meander on the rest of the quilt to just hold it in place. Her second quilt is a soft t-shirt quilt made from scraps.

Patty had a little fun with the next two quilts.  Each matching, almost, one has blue borders and the second one uses the color purple.  Patty did a great job on the piecing making my job an easy one!

This is one of my very, very favorite quilt patterns!!  What a great scrap buster this one can be!  This quit is from Elizabeth and is nothing short of fabulous!  LOVE IT!!

Sam is back again this month with another Christmas project.  How fun is this little quilt made with the Grinch fabric?  We decided to go with an ornament design for the quilting and it just finished the quilt perfectly.

My friend Dorothy!  Another great batch of quilts from the great state of Washington.  Each one of these little quilts is just better than the last.  I have so much fun working with Dorothy, she allow me to select the design of my choice so I really get a chance to try some great designs.

Here's a great top using the Civil War fabrics.  Susanne has been quite busy turning out some pretty fabulous projects.  The quilting design is a modern leafy one, just perfect.

WOW! WOW! WOW!
I love this turtle quilt from Dianne!  Such a fun quilt and the colors for the turtles and ocean are perfect!  She did a great job with the piecing giving the turtles so much definition. Using a swimming turtle design for the quilting finished it off wonderfully!

Southwest style and color.  The bold colors on Dianne's second quilt are indicative of the beautiful colors from the desert and the beautiful sunsets that can only be seen in the southwest.

Here's one of mine!  Due to the covid rules and guidelines this year the hubs decided he'd take a year off from skiing, his winter love.  I picked up this quilt as a kit, priced just right to make it too irresistible to pass up.  The quilt was a great Christmas gift for him.  I had fun with the quilting, don't forget to click on the photo for up-close look at the quilting!  There are skiers on it!  On the lift, going down a hill combined with a few snowflakes making this just the most perfect quilting design!  I had fun making it but more fun quilting it!

That's it for another month!  Hope to be back very soon,
still trying to catch up!

Thanks for checking on me,

September 2020

Moving right along, let's get on to the September quilts!

Here's a couple of great quilts from Shirley!  Loads of great colors for that perfect man quilt and finishing it off with a very outdoorsy quilting theme.  Her second quilt is a beautiful string quilt and she's used blue as her main color to pull all of the fabrics together.  Good job!!

Sam has been one busy gal!  Here's another great project that she's finished  before the Christmas holiday season.  How fantastic is this gray and white tree?  So sophisticated and elegant, quilted with the perfect snowflake designs.

You just can't go wrong with the batiks.  Here's a quilt from Cheryl and the batik colors are just perfect for this quilt pattern. The darks and lights are perfectly placed.  Great job, Cheryl.

Let's just add another great batik to the list while we are at it!  Lauren did a fantastic job on her batik quilt using a lime green fabric as the center focal point.  With a deep purple as her high contrast in color, it's another great one for the books.

Michele kept me busy for a couple of days!  Here are her quilts for this month.

First up is this beautiful blue and brown with a bit of machine applique to highly compliment the colors of her opposite quilt block rows.  The machine applique
is superb.

How stunning is this burgundy, green, and cream bargello?  Michele sure does know her color combos!

And then let's add a couple of Trip Around the World to her collection.  Again with the most perfect color collection finishing off truly beautiful quilts.

Lastly just a bit of fun mindless stitching.  It's a great way to decompress.   Scrappy and pure fun to sit and sew.

How great is this batik and white from Terry in Oh?  Just one more way you
can't go wrong with batiks!  Batiks pair so well with a solid white, the colors pop and it has a nice clean overall look to it.  Simple quilting for the finishing touch.

Pam, another gal working ahead of the calendar. These quilts were made and will be given as Christmas gifts, the first two for a couple of young gals.  Working with Kaffe Fasset fabrics and adding themed quilting design will throw these two quilts over the top.  Skulls and geckos, why wouldn't the new quilt owner just love them?  Pam's third quilt was made for a very special friend.

Here's another project from Susanne here in NH.  Great use of the red, white and blue fabrics, another simple quilt top with smashing results.

Judy worked wonders with this panel turning it into a super huge quilt!
Another Christmas-themed quilt finished before the deadline!  These gals
are on the ball!

You just wouldn't believe how soft this scrappy quilt from Paige was!  Made for her 8-year-old niece this wonderful quilt will just be perfect for all kinds of snuggles, forts, and happy dreams.

That's it for the month of September!  Hope to be back in a couple of weeks with the October quilt show!
