Quilter of the Day!

I currently have over 300 edge to edge designs to select from when considering the stitching that goes on a quilt.  I have to say I do have a few favorites.  Dorothy from WA sent me these great quilts and they are without a doubt perfect for using two of my favorite designs.

Dorothy is on a mission to use up some of her stash - good for her!!  These two quilts are wonderful examples of how the scrappy stash buster quilts can be fabulous!!

Isn't that just a fabulous quilt?  I LOVE it!!  Here's a close up of the border and you can really see the quilting design.

Dorothy used a solid backing that really shows the design and the color is perfect!

This is a second quilt from Dorothy.   Interesting design, I really didn't see it until I stepped back.  The off set blocks are really fun.

Another border shot showing the quilting design, one of my favorites....

And again, the backing tells all.....

Great job Dorothy!!  A couple of really wonderful quilts!

that's it for today,

It's all about happy flowers with my Quilter of the Day!

Spring is just around the corner, right??   I am so ready for it, as I am sure the rest of the country is also.  It has been a looooog winter for us all.

Ginny is my quilter of the day today, she is from the state of Washington!  Long way from New Hampshire but I am always happy to see her mail on my door step.  I've only done a couple of quits for Ginny but they have been wonderful!!

This first one is for a granddaughter and how fabulous is it?  It is a super, super happy fun quilt that I am sure will be well loved from day one.

Aren't the flowers and birds just adorable?  And check out the flowers on the borders on this quilt, just happy I tell ya!

Here's the entire quilt, don't forget you can click on it for a closer look!

Ginny had sent me this one earlier and I'm just getting around to posting it.  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE blue so this one has been one of my favorites to work with!

I believe Ginny did a ton of fussy cutting on this quilt, the oriental
prints are very relaxing.

I fell in love with this quilting design by the time I was done with the quilt. I think it finished the quilt off perfectly!  Once again Anne Bright did it again with this design, Tristen.

Well, that's it for this Sunday night, almost the last day of March.  April is knocking on the door.  Hope you had a great weekend,

Quilt of the day...Snowflakes!

I know, I know, we've all had just about enough!!  Everyone around here is actually looking forward to mud season and saying they won't even complain about black flies.  Now that is something!!

Jen made this adorable quilt for her Mother-In-Law Eileen.  She did a fabulous job on all of the machine applique, carefully going around each and everyone of those little designs!!  Check it out!!

And then we decided to go with a snowflake machine quilting design.  Finishes it
off with a great texture.

Didn't she do a great job?  I love it!!

that's it for today, hope you all are having a great weekend!!

Quilter of the day...

This amazing quilt is from Betty Ann.  It is so striking because of the colorful fabrics that she used for this stack n whack quilt.

I love stack n whack quilts.  The designs that are created with the same fabric can be breathtaking!  The purple color of this one just makes you take notice!

With the solid border the quilting stands out like no body's business, I LOVE IT!!!!

And then to top it all off, Betty Ann used the focus fabric from the front paired it with two new colors and created a backing that looks a lot like this......

Great quilt don't you think???

That's it for today, hope you all are having a wonderful week....

No quilting at my house....

Kids.....

They change your life forever.  The saying is true, no matter how old they are you still worry about them.  They sure can make life complicated.

 Nope, not driving this anymore.

I've spent just about the entire week scouring the area for a decent used vehicle, not an easy or fun job.

One of the biggest lessons I've learned this week, tell your kids to begin the
phone call with,

"I'm okay"

Quilts of the day from my Quilter of the Day!!

Reaching way back into the archives of my photo files, I have Suzanne from TX.  I've got some really great quilts of her's to show off today.  Let's start with this one....

Pretty amazing don't you think?  I can't begin to wrap my head around the planning that went into this quilt!  Suzanne did a fantastic job getting the buffalo duplicated in this quilt.

I suggested a meander stitch for this one, I didn't think it needed anything else but the true design of the quilt to stand on it's own.  By having a computer do the stitching it remained very even and duplicated throughout the entire quilt.  This also helped keep the quilt the only focus when looking at it. Love what she did on the back as well!

( Blogger is not playing nicely today!! Can't get the photos to cooperate.....)

Isn't this next one just adorable??  Love the bright colors and offsetting it with the white really makes the fabrics pop!

My boys loved this one!!  It was one of their favorites.

Almost think you are seeing double?   Nope, two quilts, two colors,  very nicely done!

that's it for today, thanks to Suzanne for her great quilts!

Quilter of the day!! This is a great one!!!

I have had the joy of working with an amazing number of beautiful quilts in the last 3-4 years, but this was one of my very favorites!!

The colors are beautiful and the piecing is absolutely PERFECT!  I must say I was honored to be able to add this quilt to my list of quilts that I have quilted.

I met JoAnn through one of my guilds and her projects are always breathtaking!  I've gotta brag on her a little bit here, last year she won Karen Kay Buckley Judge's Choice at the Vermont Quilt Festival.  I've got a link below to show you, but before you click on it, since I know you'll want to see it closer and it's not a close photo, don't forget you can hold the Ctrl and push the + key for a larger image...

Isn't it just amazing?!?!  And it looks way, way, better in person!!

Okay, here's the quilt I quilted for JoAnn......

There was not a single point on any of those flying geese missing!!
   Absolute Perfection!!

Solid backing really showed off the quilting.  JoAnn selected the Waves design from Anne Bright.

thanks for checking on me, hope you enjoyed today's quilt!

Quilter of the day....

These two wonderful quilts came to me from Christina in MA.  She did a fabulous job on the piecing and they were oh, so easy for me to work with.

When working with any quilt that has white fabric, the choice of all white batting or go with the natural?  Really depends upon the quilters liking.  Using a natural batting with the white fabrics will change the white slightly.  Something to think about when you have those quits quilted.

Jane in NH, Quilter of the day

This is an amazing work of art!  I can't begin to imagine all of the time that Jane spent on this beautiful quilt for her daughter.

Don't forget to click on each of the photos for a closer view,
this quilt is worth the time.  You will not be disappointed!

Here's a better shot of the center of the quilt.

the details........

 The mountains are beautiful!

Question of the day...at what point is a quilt no longer a quilt, but a piece of art?

You tell me............

Meet Judi, my quilter of the day!!

Remember how I said I had a ton of quilts from last year that I hadn't posted?  Here's Judi's quilts! She managed to knock out a few now and then.  So let's begin....

Here's a blue and gold modern one, that we used an Anne Bright Geometric design on.  Love the way it finished it up!

Bold and Bright!!  This is definitely reflects Judi's fun personality!

The fabrics that Judi selected for this one was FABULOUS!!! She didn't want to cut the larger print, so it became the focal point of her quilt.  The squares on the borders really sets this quilt off!!!

Wild and crazy.....best describes this one!  But the color combo is fabulous!

Where's Judi??  Peeking from behind her quilt!  This photo was taken at the retreat,
silly girl!

Again with the bold and bright!! Who besides Judi would ever put that much color into a quilt?  Looks FABULOUS daaarrrllliiiinnnngggg.....

If you didn't click on the photo's for up close of these, you are missing out!! I LOVE working with all of the fun bright colors of Judi's quilts, they brighten my days!
 Thanks doll!!
