July Quilts

July was a fun and busy month for me.  I had the opportunity to attend a Retreat in northwestern New York for my Janome sewing machine.   It was a ton of fun and I learned so much!  Made the 7 plus hour one way drive well worth it! Missing a full week to attend the retreat I did manage to get a little quilting done.  Let's see what happened during the month of July!

Here are a couple of quilts from Alex. All so modern in design and fabrics.  For the first quilt, Alex used three blocks as her focus and then larger pieces of fabric on both sides.  This really puts the focus on the center of the quilt.  For her second quilt, she used small splashes of bright colors and set them with bright white fabric!  The colors really pop!

Diane finished off a couple of pretty important projects this month.  An adorable little Peter Rabbit quilt for a new addition to their family and a couple of Christmas projects.  She used the same pattern and design for a table topper and a tree skirt.

This great super simple quilt came from Elizabeth in KY.  The larger blocks made this a quick and easy quilt to put together and the fabrics she selected makes it a real winner.  We decided to go with a more old fashion design for the quilting and I think it finished it off nicely. I believe she mentioned this was headed to a charity in her area.

WOW! WOW! WOW!  Ginny in WA put a lot of time into this next quilt!  Each of the little Sun Bonnet Sue and Sam was done on her embroidery machine using applique. Each of the little block is cuter than the one before!  All of the colors and tiny little scraps to make this quilt are just amazing!  This very special quilt is going to get lots of love from Ginny's little granddaughter.

Katherine has been busy working on Christmas projects.  Here's a quickly pieced scrappy lap quilt and a super cute paper pieced wall hanging.   We went with a snowflake design on the wall hanging and it finished off perfectly.

Haven't seen anything from this Pat in NH for a while, but this month brings a little split rail quilt all done up in black, white and red.  The fabrics are super cute so don't forget to click on the photo for a closer look!

Here's a Pat in VT and she's completed a super cute quilt for a new little person in the family.  Using the little turtle as a center square was a fabulous idea!  You can then build the quilt around the center character, how clever!

Peg in NC!!  Here are three pretty amazing quilts!  Her Christmas quilt all done up in reds, white and a splash of green is spectacular!  I just love how she personalized it adding a block with the dog.  Peg recently got the cutest puppy ever and we love seeing her photos on facebook.  Her second quilt was made for someone special.  You have just got to love a great t-shirt quilt and Peg did it well.  The shirts were bright colors and so much fun resulting in a wonderful completed project.  The last quilt just had to be finished with a modern quilting design for the incredible Paris fabric quilt.

Sue from NH, finished this cheerful quilt for a very special occasion.  Bright colors and cheerful fabrics will brighten anywhere the quilt will be used.  The fabric contains the words; Love, Laugh and Live.  Perfect words of encouragement for a young couple beginning their lives together.  Great fabric selection!

Well, that wraps up July, I hope to be back soon with August!
