Bunch of Quilts in February!

The quilts from February were an amazing array of color, style and beauty.  Once again so much talent from so many wonderful women.  It's interesting hearing the stories behind some of the quilts.  This month was particularly interesting.  Enjoy the show.....

We begin with this memory quilt that I helped in finishing for Angela.  Angela was one of the first quilting gals I met here in New Hampshire.  We found each other on a quilting group and she made sure I had all the information about the quilt happenings of this area.  It was so sweet of Angela to reach out and really make me feel welcome.  I finished this quilt in memory of her granddaughter and the quilt was made for her son.  I hope it will bring the family just a small amount of comfort for their huge loss.  It was an honor to help out with such a special project for my special friend Angela.

Up next we have another quilt from Bonnie. This beautiful blend of fabrics paired up perfectly with the paisley quilting design that she selected.  I believe this quilt is destine for the bed in her guest room.

This great little quilt has probably found it's new home at the Jack Bryne Cancer Center here in Lebanon, NH.  Diedre did a great job on this pieced and applique top.  The tree blocks are perfectly accented by the vine and leaf applique that she did in each of the corners.  We finished it off with an all over leave design much like the leaf applique she did.

Our next quilts are from Diane.  The lighting isn't great on the first quilt, it's true colors are soft tan/cream and a peachy pink.  The darker brown of the border and block pulls it all together perfectly!  Wanting to make it a soft and sweet quilt I selected an older style design mimicking flowers, feathers and a heart in the elements of the quilting.  Finished up perfectly.  Diane's second quilt is the cutest little thing of bright colors and a super fun print.  The bright giraffe print is just as cute as it can be!

Another Dianne made the next two quilts!  The first one is so modern in both style and fabrics.  The colors and the prints blend and compliment all at the same time.  Love the white sashing Dianne used, really make the blocks pop!  I found a pretty cool quilting design to finish it off.  Her second quilt is headed for "the camp".  The fabric select of nature element prints will go wonderfully at "the camp". And the dragonfly quilting design fits the quilt perfectly!

Working with her colors, this next quilt comes from Dorothy in WA.  She loves those reds and creams.  Dorothy did a great job with the color layout on this one, the solid reading red centers are the perfect accent for the combination of colors in the rest of the quilt.  The border print finishes the quilt superbly.

This is a simple, but amazingly stunning applique quilt from Janet.  Her choice of colors with the medium blue and white are sensational.  Janet's machine applique and piecing are perfect!  We went with a simple design that contains a swirling feature that completes the quilt impeccably.  Janet made this quilt for her Mom's birthday, I know it will be greatly loved.

WOW! WOW! WOW!  Was my reaction when I open the box and saw the next two quilts.   Sent to me from Jolene in KY, they are bold and beautiful!  The color gradation on the orange is sensational! Jolene selected a very modern swirly quilting design that compliments the quilt. Her second quilt, so totally modern with the colors, style and fabrics! For this quilt she selected a lightly leafed swirly design that again finished the quilt beautifully!

Katherine has spent some major time with her machine and good for her!!  She managed to keep me busy for a couple of days with all of these great little quilts.  After the binding and a quick spin in the washing machine they are going to be as lovable as ever!!  Stay tuned I'll have another batch to share from Katherine very soon!

Here's a couple of Laura's projects.  Her first is a blue and white wall hanging I believe it's the Storm At Sea block.  The contrast of the fabric colors really defines the design.  The second quilt is AMAZING!!  I am falling in love with all of the traditional quilting blocks done in the modern fabrics.  Beautifully pieced this is a real winner!

This month we have just one quilt from Mary Catherine!  But stay tuned there are more to come very soon!!  Back again this month with her beloved 1600 quilt which is the most perfect quilt to give for a low time investment quilt of nothing but pure love.

Here's a couple of Michele's latest creations!  Perfectly pieced and the color selection of her quilts are always striking!  The first quilt I quilted a fun funky flower using bright orange thread making it a totally modern quilt.  Her second quilt we went with a floral quilting design that compliments the fabrics flawlessly.

Nancy's quilts got a lot of attention on facebook!! The first quilt with it's soft colors and modern fabrics paired with the minky backing and a swirly quilting design, really, what's not to love?  Her second quilt brights framed in black sashing is always a winner.  Great job, Nancy!!

Two seemed to be a good number for me this month!  The next two quilts are from Sue and the first one is another quilt that will just wrap you in warm hugs. Flannel and the soft warm colors makes this one inviting!  Then we flip 180 and go with brights!!  The orange backing was perfect for the bright batiks Sue used in this quilt top.  I love the multicolored border on this one it is fabulous!

That wraps up my February!  Hope to be back very soon with the March quilts! I've got more terrific quilts to share from a magnificent group of quilters!
