Looks like the last post was dated March 2nd, so I'm not as behind as I thought I was, isn't that always a good feeling? I am like most and running to what seems like always catch up with myself and everyone else.
Past couple of months have been busy as ever. Hosted my first spring retreat, photo's to follow-it was so productive and tons of fun. Tax season. Those two words alone if you own any sort of business is just "UGH!!". With all of that behind me I have one unsettling task that is going to take a while and is harder than hard, more on that later.
Let's see some really great quilts shall we???
Karen in IN!! She always knocks the ball way, way out of the park in the quilting world. I worked with three of her quilts in February and the hexie one was just to die for! It was about 85" x 111" and was AMAZING!! Completely hand pieced and we decided on a very simple meander for the quilting.
Here's the hexie quilt....
Karen's second quilt was a wedding signature quilt. Love the idea of having wedding guest leave the bride and groom words of love and encouragement something they can have for years to come.
Of course the third quilt was just as fabulous as the other two...
Claire from CT sent me this beautiful blue and yellow quilt she had made for her niece. Claire did a wonderful job of piecing the quilt making it so easy for me to work with. With blues and yellow's you can't go wrong, they blend well together and are always a great color to work with.
Terry from over at Terry's Treasures kept me busy with three quilts. Check out her post to read a little bit more about these.....
Bonnie in VT finished up this great quilt, love the design on this quilt! Would be a great one if you have a fabulous print you wanted to use larger pieces with.
Did a little pumpkin quilting in February. Melynn in MA finished up her guild challenge and pumpkins just seemed to fit on this great table topper/runner.
Former neighbor Karen was in NH visiting and we got this great quilt one step closer to being finished. Karen has given me a couple of very cool modern quilts for the young adults in her family. White mixed with just about any of the modern fabrics and you can't go wrong!
Another amazing modern quilt came my way from Janet in NH. This quilt was made for her granddaughter. Another fabulous quilt!! Janet did a wonderful job piecing, making my job a breeze! I know this quilt will be loved for many, many years to come. GREAT QUILT, Janet!!
What a beautiful quilt this next one is!! Perfect example of mixing older style fabrics with the white and finishing with another stunning quilt! Quilt was made by Alyssa's great aunt and I had the pleasure of quilting it. Perfectly pieced and stitched with tons of love.
Laura is busy, busy, busy making these great quilts for everyone on her quilt list! She is a newer-ish quilter and every quilt is better than the last. She's coming a long in the quilt making process. I love seeing her latest top and working with her on the do's and don't of quilt making. Laura has a flare for color and I'm guessing we are going to see some pretty amazing things in the future. Here's her latest....
Brandie from here in NH sent me this great brown and pink quilt. She requested a Celtic heart design and I think this design from Ann Bright just fit the request. Another combo where you just can't go wrong.....
Looking back over some of those photo's I might have done a better job at the photo editing...oops!! But let's call it done and get to work on those March quilts! Again I've got some pretty amazing one to show you, and April is not too shabby either!!
Hope to share a few retreat photo's as well. I've got a few that will definitely make you smile and even more that will make you hungry! The food was as amazing as the guests.
Have a wonderful day!!
Thanks for checking on me....
hugs,
joanne
