My first quilt this month is from Jo. I've got a lot of photos of this one, it's an amazing, personal art quit. Taking Jo many, many months to complete the layout and theme is just nothing short of amazingly artistic. The center of this quilt represents the stars in the night sky with a shooting start in the center giving it much movement and loads of character. If that's not enough Jo has four different scenes on her borders. We opted for simple stars for the quilting design but I didn't want them looking like a regular edge to edge design. I played around with the computer, developed a long row, offsetting the design so the same start was in different locations over the top of the quilt. Don't forget to click on the photos for a closer look at this one!
Shirley's quilts shows off the quilting in an amazing way! Using two layers of batting these wonderful quilts are not just gorgeous but they are going to be super warm and comfy.
Shirly usually opts for very simple quilting designs which will keep these quilts warmer than warm during the cold winter months.
Suzi made this beautiful comfort quilt for a co-work going through some tough times. After completing the top she had others pen notes of encouragement for the friends journey. We used a modern heart design for the quilting finishing it off beautifully.
Here's the perfect little man quit made by Mary for her grandson. This quilt will last for many years to come. It's design and colors are going to be timeless.
Patti dropped off a couple of quilts this month. Her first is so fun! Love all of the different blocks with the bright cheery fabrics. A modern floral/paisley design was the direction we went with for the quilting, love both!
The backing fabric was just perfect! Click on the photo so you can read it.
Patti's next quilt is just adorable! How cute is this little Tinkerbell panel surrounded by all of the little blocks Patti made? Of course there's a Tinkerbell quilting design to finish it off.
Renie, WOW! Muted tones never looked so good! Simple design with dramatic results. Modern quilting finishes this one off perfectly. Made for newly weds this is a great wedding gift.
Robin, using bold fabrics from Kaffe all in the same color family has some pretty amazing results for this quilt. Simple design with soft colors for an incredible outcome.
Here's an ocean themed quilt from Beth Anne. An amazing mix of block designs and fabrics makes this one fascinating. Of course we just had to stitch out an ocean themed quilting design for the finish.
Pretty amazing don't you think? Very cool design with the perfect colors to really make this one intriguing. Then you toss in the little puppies in the border and it's just cute! Great job, Beth Anne!
Leslie's quilt is just fascinating! Simple prints, bold in color blocks set in the tan fabric really are stunning. Great way to used the fabrics in the border to pull it all together for the finish. Simple quilting for this one.
So many pretty colors! Judy's quilt made for a guest bed will certainly perk up any space. The simple block design constructed perfectly makes this quilt just delightful. A modern quilting design was the perfect finish.
Crystal finished off this fabulous Bonnie Hunter quilt using Christmas prints. Fussy cutting the centers of her blocks makes this one just fun! Snowflakes just had to be stitched on this one!
This snazzy colorful quilt Susan was made as a gift for her granddaughter. Her selection of fabrics, design and quilting makes it just perfect for a young gal. I am sure this quilt is more than loved!
Sharon brings back the southwest again this month with this great quilt. The amazing colors are so incredible and the pops of turquoise really set it off. A fun modern quilting design for the finish.
Katherine's back again this month with super simple quilt top design. This is totally my style, quick and easy making it all about the love you can wrap a person in with the gift of a quilt. Hearts and flowers quilting design to reinforce the love that is gifted with this quilt.
WOW! Patty did an incredible job on this next quilt! The stars in the center each have their very own design making this quilt a one of a kind. Her outer border really sends the center into the edge with style. So very, very graceful. Another modern design was just what this quilt needed for finishing.
Once again Norma does an exceptional job on this unbelievable quilt top! In blues with small pops of yellow for an amazing contrast in color this is number one in my book! Of course you all know blue is my color...but this quilt is grand. We opted for a very modern feathery floral which was just perfect for the quilting.
My friend Dorothy out in the state of Washington has been busy making these little quilts. I love the way she put just one block in the border of the first one.
The contrast on this one is great!
Great way to bring focus to the center of the quilt. The high contrast colors on this one is wonderful.
That's it for May, see you again soon!
