November was another hectic month. Hosted the 4h retreat at Hulbert Outdoor Center in Fairlee, VT. Thanksgiving with the boys home and a few quilts. Life in general for everyone is just crazy and why is that? sigh...

Ketta from Mo sent me this happy, happy quilt filled with lots of hugs and kisses. It is a quilt she made for her daughter Claire for Christmas. What a wonderful, wonderful quilt this one was!
Kristina from here in NH finished off this beautiful quilt all in blues. Wanting an ocean feeling we used a circular quilting design. Love the blues!!
Labyrinth quilts, WOW! The quilt design always requires high contrasting colors and this one from Leslie is fabulous! When discussing quilting designs for these quilts I usually go with a very basic meander so the quilting does not distract from the design of the quilt.
Up next is a cute little baby quilt from Mary Beth. Stars were perfect for this one!
Marianne in VT worked those log cabin blocks into this fabulous quilt! You can't go wrong with a log cabin block. The contrasting colors and placement really gives this quilt movement. Wonderful!!
Pat in Fl. pulled this panel into a great quilt! I could post a dozen photos of this one! Be sure and check the other blog for more photos. Panels have always been head scratcher for me, I love seeing what these gals do with them. Here's another one that I have fallen in love with!
Another very special Christmas quilt. Pat in VT made this quilt for her hubbie and his best bud. Adding a couple of photo blocks took this one over the edge of being extra special! I'm learning how to add lettering into quilting designs and this is one of the first. Couldn't resist adding hubbie and his best bud's name on the quilt.
Paulette finished off a couple of quilts recently. The Oriental prints of the first one were beautiful! Couldn't resist adding the Oriental quilting design!
Paulette's second quilt slipped by me!! I got a couple of up close shots of the block but no photo of the entire quilt!! Darn it!!
What a sweet, sweet quilt this one was!! Ruthanne put this one together for a grand baby. The little owls were so sweet and the fabrics were amazingly soft! This one will be loved!!
Couple more baby quilts!! Sandy put these two little quilts together for gifts. I helped finish them off using one of my favorite quilting designs, Cotton Candy. It's a puffy design that in spots looks like hearts without really "being" hearts.
Shari in VT made Christmas special this year with these two adorable quilts. The fabrics were so fun and girly! Be sure and click on the photos for a closer look! I got to quilt out a cute little owl stitching design for her owl quilt and a very girly floral on the other!
I sometimes get request to make quilts for people. This can honestly be an act of love for me. When I got the email from Ashley asking me if I could make a crib quilt from receiving blankets, sheets and towels I wasn't sure what direction to go. After several emails and photos I finally got things going. We ended up with enough fabrics for a pretty good size lap quilt that her son could use now and a crib that she could tuck away for a grand baby some day in the far, far future. Some of the fabrics had to be stabilized but all in all the two quilts turned out amazing!! If you lived in the area and visited me you saw this project in many stages and hanging for what may have seemed for-ever on my design wall. Here's a few photos, and of course I didn't get a shot of the finished crib, darn it!!
After much MATH I figured 8" squares would net the most blocks and be the best use with less waste from the items.
Here's the crib in process. I decided to offset the seams to make the corners less bulky and lumpy. Trying to think ahead for the baby.
With the other blocks I managed to pull this design from the left over pieces.
AND then I wanted to design a quilting pattern to stitch on it! At this point I was emotionally vested in this project! But the fabrics!!! They were so amazingly soft and wonderful!!!
You can see the finished lap quilt and then I've got the little triangular pieces from the towels.
Found the most perfect Moda print for the backing! Again with the luscious fabrics, can't go wrong with Moda.
Isn't this the most adorable little thing!!
And here's his three companions. How am I going to do this????
After much, much marking, I finally came up with shapes that I liked for each of the little pieces.
Here's the only photo I have of a finished corner after adding the little towel embellishments. I did add them after I the machine quilting, I really wanted them to pop on the quilt.
I think Ashley was please with the end product. I got a very lovely note from her expressing her thanks.
Those were the November quilts, hope to have December up very soon!
Thanks for checking on me,
hugs,
joanne
