Pictures!!!

Michelle in CA

Michelle sent me these two cute little quilts to do for her! Love the color combo's. Will make the perfect little person's quilt!

Janice in IL

This is the "monster quilt"!! The largest that I have done so far! My new friend Janice in Chicago sent this one in, it confused me in the beginning, but we got it all worked out!! Love the blue colors, but I am a blue gal!

Amy in MD

Sent me this cute little cat quilt. Click to see each one of the cats. Love the backing that she sent, it could be it's own quilt!

Cool back to go with the kitty front! Don't forget that you can click to get a closer look!

Nancy in PA

Angel quilt that my daughter Marcy wanted to keep! Some times you just have to tell the kids "no", but I must agree that it is a cute quilt!

Cute crib quilt, with antique toy designs.

Thanks for checking on me, hope you are enjoying the show!! Now, I need to make this old place curb appealable....now, that is a tough job....sigh.....

Painting anyone?

This is MOSTLY what I've been up to for the past week-Painting!! I have a 25/25 rule, as long as it looks good from 25 feet away at 25 miles per hour-it's all good!! With Jeff in New Hampshire I'm here holding down the fort and attempting to make our house look more appealing to the average homeowner. Mulch and hostas will follow as soon as I get the front done and won't be dragging ladders or scaffolding over all the green stuff that has fought for life the last 25 years that we've been working on this place.

Here's a closer picture of the colors.....can't figure out the colors for the little triangle pieces in the corners. The underside is a light green, the post a dark and the porch floor will be a medium green. I thought I paint the post on the balls the dark green and the actual balls the light green. Do you think it will give the illusion of the balls floating??

If you have any color ideas on the porch peak colors or the little triangles, let me know!! Zoom in on other pictures to see the color combo's that we have available.
I have done some quilting and have some pictures to share. I am heading to a sewing day with my friend Rhonda and some quilters from the Yahoo Group-Quilting in Indiana. Since I won't be totally exhausted I'll work on getting those posted later today.
Fun Stuff: I purchased some Panto's this week and I'm planning on practicing on those very soon. I can't wait to get started!!
Thanks for keeping tabs on me! Don't forget to come back and see the quilt pictures!!
Headed off for a day for ME!!!! (no paint brushes allowed for the next 24 hours)

House for Sale & "Stuff"

Where do I begin? I have so much to tell you to get you caught up....so here I go...........

Our house is currently on the market. Here's the link if you want to see a tour:

http://tours.tourfactory.com/tours/tour.asp?t=489526

Jeff, (hubbie) is living in New Hampshire and I am here in Noblesville with the kids. Jeff is an electrical engineer who has worked for either the automotive industry or in the consumer electronics field for the last 27 years. He has worked for GM or Thomson Consumer Electroinics (they make RCA tv's). Okay, another cup of coffee and a post it note to my monitor to KISS-Keep It Simple Stupid.....I have a tendency to be a veeeerryy long story teller.

House-purchased it 1986, room/house addition began in 1999. Long ugly contractor stories with the room addition, tons of unbelievably bad work, everybody's blood on house like you wouldn't believe and completely destroying our children's view of what a "normal life" was all about.

So, a week and a half ago I hire a contractor to put a roof on our front porch. I have the highest praise for the R J & E Contracting Company, Eric and his crew!! I can't think of anyone who has had a 100% POSTIVE encounter with a contractor, but I have had the best crew of workers here for the past week!

Before roof:
Finished and looking beautiful!!

Well, you know how one project leads to another? The kids and I fixed the porch floor yesterday. This was of course after I spent the morning power washing the porch to remove the flaking paint so I can paint as soon as I can. It will look so cool when I finish!
Porch floor before, note rotting wood:

Just about finished porch floor, ran out of nails. I’ll go back to this after I finish a few quilts.

So.....also bought daughter Marcy her first sewing machine:

She's made this cute little cake pin cushion:

Here's her disappearing 9 block

I did get Janice’s monster quilt loaded last night and will be working on it today. I haven’t worked on anything this large so it will be good experience.

Also, I did sneak in a few minutes to work on Karen O’s quilt and here’s a preview of it laid out on the floor:

Lastly, here’s a pic of me that a kid took after a full day of power washing and porch floor repair: I’m thinking I really need to consider coloring my hair!! Geez!! When did I get so grey?!?!?

It's May already?!?!?!?

Sheila in OH

This is one of the warmest quilts I had the pleasure to work with. The color combo is so inviting, I love it!! I also love the way Sheila has left the corners at an angle. Click on the picture and take a close look at the different fabrics that she has used.

Sidney in UT

The purples and green on this quilt is an amazing mixed contrast? Is there such a thing? I love the way it looks. I couldn't decided to do purple or green thread, and ended up going with a cream because I didn't want to have the machine quilting overpower the beautiful work on the blocks.

Jacquie in KS

I love the blue contemporary look. My son Danny mentioned that this one was one of his favorites, he thought it was "very hip and just makes me happy to look at it". He's 15 years old, so I guess he would know what "hip" is all about.
I can't believe that May is already here! I'm behind a week on reading other blogs and passing along fun info for you to read! Don't forget that you can click on any of the pictures for a closer look! Take care!!
