Fatquarters and other things.....

Here's the FQ for the batting give a way!! Good luck!!

Did you notice the grass on the top of Nancy's quilt? We, anyone I can find rambling around our house who is over 5' tall, hang the quilts over the side of our pool deck. VERY, VERY carefully. My boys absolutely love it....can't you hear them wine, "another one??". Yep, and then the instructions begin; careful, don't let it hit the ground, check the rail, unfold it carefully, use two hands, put the ipod down, take the earphones out so you can hear me, move it up, straighten out the corner, and so on. They love it! They are good boys, for the most part. lol

I'm getting my mailman a Subway gift card. He is taking care of your quilts. I love my mailman Chris. I feed him cookies if I make them. Last weekend I had to stalk him in the neighborhood. I missed him and we had just made coconut macaroons. He offered me a GPS for him if I was bringing food.

Just wanted to let you all know I ordered the variegated thread yesterday. It should be here in a couple of days. Also, I am a non-smoker, and pet free home, unless you consider large teenage boys animals...but they know better than to mess with Mom's stuff. I can make their lives miserable, and I will and they know it. Aaaahhhh, power....love it. But I love them too!

Can't think of much else, let me know if you all have any questions or concerns. I will be contacting more ladies today I'm running low on quilts.

Thanks again ladies for letting me work with your beautiful works of love.

Win Black and White Fat Quarters!!!!

Where ever do I come up with these ideas? Here's my latest......

How many different ways can you use your left over batting? Let's see how many ways we can use those little scraps of batting. It doesn't matter what kind of batting it is, just how do you use it?

I will compile a list and post it here. Now of course there has to be something in it to make it fun and get you ladies to come up with some pretty creative ideas....so, I will put together a 6 pack of fat quarters. I'm thinking blacks and whites, I'll have to get some, so pictures will appear in a couple of days.

NOW.....you need to post your idea, and if there is a duplicate, first post gets the credit. Be sure to leave me your contact information, PLEASE!! I'll let this run until Midnight April 1st. On April 5th, I will let Random.org pick a winner. So the more ideas you have the more chances of winning. If the winner does not supply contact information the second place spot will be considered the winner, and so on....

Sounds pretty simple.....let the game begin.

Denise in CO

Here is a pic of the quilt that Denise in CO mailed to me for the Stimulus Package. My camera does not do this cute little quilt justice! It is so colorful with a cute print.

The backing is just as colorful as the front!

joanne

Freddy Quilt

Here's a pic of the Freddy Moran quilt that I did. Love all of the bright colors, so out of my element! But I did the quilting in black, and loved the look of it.

You can clearly see the black on the bright yellow....

Close up of the black on the bright orange......

Sometimes one color will work very well, other times you may want to consider a variegated thread. Remember to just consider the options.

Important Information on the Stiumlus Package

Everyone should have received an email from me asking you to check on the blog for information on our Stimulus Package. If you received the email you are on my Excel spread sheet (Something extra I hadn't planned to keep everything straight) but you are on the list! As things are progressing I am learning all kinds of glitches in the set up of my offer. Haha!! Sounds like something you'd hear on television! But be patient with me, we will get through this.

Okay.......

Money-I will notify you the final charges before I return the quilts to you. There should be no surprises. You will be charged half my regular rates, plus return shipping to you. You and I will discuss (via email) how you can/will pay. Paypal, check, what-ever. If you have additional charges, variegated thread (see I didn't even think about this) or anything else - WHICH I WILL NOTIFY YOU BEFORE will be included in the final charges. I don't like surprises and when it comes to money and I KNOW you wouldn't either.

Quilting-you will be getting a simple meandering pattern all over your quilt. Please do not expect anything else.

PLEASE - Be considerate of my time. Send me your quilts and BACKINGS that have been squared and pressed. I will touch them up as needed, but I do not want to press them for the quilting. This will take too much of my time, I will notify you if there is a problem here.

I will post pictures of the quilts that I have completed. If you do NOT want your quilt on my blog please let me know when you send me your quilt.

I will notify you when to send your quilt. Right now I am looking for the variegated thread quilts so I can order the thread all at the same time to save on shipping for me. I will try to email you in the order that you signed up.

Right now I can't think of anything else, but I am trying to address all questions as they arise. If you have any additional questions, please let me know!

Thanks!!

joanne

Lori TN

Loaded and ready to quilt. Finished it at 2 a.m.!! What's the saying.."I can sleep when I'm dead"?

Back, simple meandering pattern....

Aren't the color pretty? And the fabric is so soft you could just get lost in it!

Thanks Lori!! I'll let you know when I get the other quilt completed!

joanne

T-Shirt Quilt

A new friend of mine, Mike made these t-shirt quilts for three children who had recently lost their dad. I can't think of anything more tragic in a young child's life. Mike used pajama pants and shirts that dad wore to blend the t-shirts. I'm sure the quilts will be well loved.

Sample of the writing that I did on the t-shirt quilts.....

I stitched hugs from daddy in each one of the quilts, wish my control (writing) was better. But it's the thought that counts on these quilts.

Sample of the meandering.........

Where am I???

Let's see....there are actually days that I do not know!! Funny, eh? Not really....ever had those days were you seem to be so busy you just don't stop, yet at the end of the day when it's all said and done it appears that you have done absolutely nothing? That was my yesterday. A lost day. So today, I need to figure out where I'm suppose to be since I lost yesterday.

I'm getting a fair amount of replies to "Joanne's Stimulus Package", if you are new and haven't read the deal, head that direction- NOW!!! Did that get your attention? Hope so....with this deal you get a great price on machine quilting. If you have any questions, fire me an comment or email. Enough about that....

Today I will be finishing 3 small quilts for a new friend. She has made t-shirt quilts for 3 little people who has lost their father. I can't think of anything more heart breaking than to go through the loss of a parent at such a young age. My prayers go out to the family.

Should have some new quilt tops rolling in hopefully today or tomorrow. I will get those puppies out as soon as I can. Interesting I mentioned to one gal that I had made "6 quilts in the past 2 years". Now, I thought that was pretty good! Just think 6 COMPLETED quilts. Not bad for someone who has only been quilting for 2 years. I make quilts that are to be loved and used. I want the person who receives my labor of love to actually use it. It's ironic that each quilt I have made up to this point has a story. Yep, seems to be the story of my life. I am beginning to understand exactly why my mom called me Lucy while I was growing up. What I don't understand is why I'm just now figuring it out!!

My stories would include a Twisted Twenty, it's a spin off of the Turning Twenty. Then there is the Oh Not So Ragged rag quilt. I have two block of the months that are identical almost, and each block has it's own tale. Then there is the Purdue quilt that started it all. Perhaps I'll blog about my most precious quilt stories in the days to come. But right now I need to sign off, and get busy!!

Remember gals, the price is still half price, I'm working for peanuts here!

hugs!

Thanks Ladies, let the spending, uh, saving begin!

This was a forward and I think it just about says it all............

Cleaning Poem
I asked the Lord to tell me
Why my house is such a mess.
He asked if I'd been 'computering',
And I had to answer 'yes'
He told me to get off my butt
And tidy up the house.
And so I started cleaning up...
The smudges off my mouse.
I wiped and shined the topside.
That really did the trick...
I was just admiring my work..
I didn't mean to 'click.'
But click, I did,and oops I found
A real absorbing site.
That I got SO way into it.
I was into it all night.<>
Nothing's changed except my mouse
It's very, very shiny.
I guess my house will stay a mess...
While I sit here on my hiney.

Thank you for being my blogging buddy and friend!
